Program Description Nursing Aides help care for physically or mentally ill, injured, disabled, or infirm individuals in hospitals, nursing care facilities, and mental health settings. Home health aides have duties that are similar, but they work in patients’ homes or residential care facilities. Nursing assistants and home health aides are among the occupations commonly referred to as direct care workers, due to their role in working with patients who need long-term care. The specific care they give depends on their specialty. C N A Program runs for 90 hours, 50 hours Classroom instruction and 40 hours of Clinical work. Homemaker-home health aides are certified by the New Jersey Board of Nursing ("Board") after successfully completing a required 76-hour training program, a competency evaluation and a criminal history background check. The training program consists of 76 hours, to include 60 hours of classroom instruction and 16 hours of clinical instruction in a skills laboratory or patient-care setting.
