Program Description

This Program builds a solid foundation in fundamental computer, accounting and professional skills. Emphasis is placed on learning a variety of business software applications, discovering the benefits of internet, and gaining accounting experience using two of the most popular accounting application today.

This course present the basic elements and concepts of accounting, with emphasis on the procedures used for maintaining journals, ledgers, and other related record, and for the completion of end-of period for small service and merchandising businesses, how t o use financial statements to be wise users of accounting information.

Next, students are introduced to computerized accounting in a microcomputer environment. Topics include a review of basic accounting theory and training in both manual and computerized accounting procedures. This program introduces students to the spreadsheets as an accounting tool. Students will learn to apply fundamental spreadsheet concepts and use them as a problem solving and decision making tool. By using a pre-designed accounting software package, students learn the principles and techniques required for computerized processing of accounting data and for generating accounting reports and financial statements.

CA010  Introduction to Computers, Windows XP Windows 2007

This course is designed to introduce the students to the personal computer. It will give the students a clear understanding of computer function and tasks within a Microsoft Windows environment. The students will also be introduced to the Windows XP  and Windows 2007 Operating systems.

 

CA020 Microsoft Word 2010  

(18 Instruction Hours)

This is a comprehensive course in the use of one of the premier word processing applications used in business today. Microsoft Word 2010 allows you to create professional looking document; letters, resumes, report, brochures, and advertisement. Students will gain hands-on experience in creating, editing, saving and printing document; character and paragraph formatting; enhancing text; and spell check.
